Cafe Nesuto (ION Orchard)

Cafe Nesuto is the café arm of Nesuto, a Singapore patisserie known for Japanese-French cakes, and its ION Orchard outlet on level four was the brand's first café in Orchard. Unlike the smaller patisserie counters, this branch runs a full kitchen, so alongside the cake display it serves savoury brunch and dinner plates in a warm, wood-furnished room with a curved pastry counter.

Cakes and tarts remain the main reason to come: praline noisette gateau, yuzu raspberry, hojicha cakes, a strawberry crumble tart and buttermilk scones, with a matcha red bean cake created as an ION exclusive. The savoury side includes a Nesuto scrambled egg rice with bacon or ikura, braised miso chicken leg, a warm seaweed and salmon salad and potato and leek soup, plus French toast with maple and seasonal fruit at brunch. Drinks run to Kyoto Uji matcha lattes and house cold-brew teas. Most mains are priced under S$30 before service charge, and the café is not halal-certified.

For whole cakes and pastries, Cafe Nesuto takes pick-up orders through its own online store, which lets you reserve a cake for a birthday or dinner party and collect it at ION rather than hoping the display still has it. The café is at #04-27 to 32 ION Orchard, about five minutes from Orchard MRT, and has been reported as open daily from 10am to 10pm. It suits Orchard shoppers, cake lovers and anyone picking up dessert on the way to a celebration.
