Tai Er (Pasir Ris Mall)

Tai Er is the Sichuan restaurant chain known for one dish above all: suancai fish, tender snakehead fish slices in a sour, gently numbing broth with crunchy pickled mustard greens and glass noodles. Its outlet on level two of Pasir Ris Mall serves the signature fish in spicy and non-spicy versions, alongside Sichuan home-style plates such as mapo tofu, stir-fried pork with green chilli, baked chicken with five-finger fig root and dry-pot cauliflower.

Tai Er Pasir Ris takes orders through its own online store, which offers islandwide delivery (minimum spend S$22) or pick-up from the outlet. One-person sets pair the suancai fish or a stir-fry with boiled cabbage and rice, and there are set meals for two, so ordering direct means the full value of your order goes to the restaurant rather than a delivery app.
